I had the bug to buy a new car last week but I successfully resisted the urge (with the help of my wife). Now that I know Orson’s day care/preschool is going to be so expensive I’m glad I resisted. I’d still like a new car but I don’t want the loan. I’ll just wait until Traci’s car is paid off first. There’ve been a bunch of changes here at BrianJarrett.com. First of all, you’ve probably noticed the new design of the site. I used a CSS that I got from bluerobot.com and modified it to incorporate my site content. I hated the old design of the site and I’m much happier now with the overall look of things. My wife says it’s boring but I like it. The old design wasn’t that exciting either so there’s no harm done. My friend Tim suggested server side includes to dynamically generate menus so now this code is ten times easier to maintain. I like to call this design “simple yet elegant”. Traci says it looks like a textbook. Don’t worry, despite all these changes the Orson pictures are still in the same place they were before. Just click “Photo Gallery” on the menu to the left.

It seems that I’ve been growing accustomed to having Orson around and my free time seems to be increasing a bit. I don’t have a lot but it’s enough to get stuff done, namely adding photos to the site and stuff like that. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to play guitar again! This means more updates to the site and maybe even some new content. I’m still planning on adding family tree stuff to the site before long. It’s in development now but I haven’t worked on it for a while.

Work is great; I’m still enjoying the work and the new environment. The project I’m working on is going well and I’m looking forward to completing it. It’s very challenging yet still enjoyable.
