Concerning Issac Hayes’ decision to leave South Park:

“South Park” co-creator Matt Stone responded sharply in an interview with The Associated Press Monday, saying, “This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology… He has no problem — and he’s cashed plenty of checks — with our show making fun of Christians.”

Stone told The AP he and co-creator Trey Parker “never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology. He wants a different standard for religions other than his own and, to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin.”

Well, this is what Scientology is all about. Of course it’s not impossible that Hayes was forced by the cult to quit. According to some high-level defectors from the cult John Travolta wanted to leave but is essentially being blackmailed to stay. The cult reportedly is using infomation divulged during “auditing” sessions about some homosexual escapades from his past to force him to stay.

Trey & Matt released information that, until recently, was a closely guarded secret of the cult. This information is now available to the public on the web and in print but with South Park’s gargantuan viewing audience this is a huge deal. Millions of people now know just how preposterous the whole thing is. In fact, Tom Cruise threatened to sue Paramount if the South Park Scientology show was ever broadcast again. It’s true. Of course, Tom cruise is nuts.
