Up and Running…and Now With a wii

So after replacing my cordless phone, two visits from the phone company to test lines, and hours and hours of testing, troubleshooting, and research, it looks like I’m back online again. After finally switching to another channel on my wireless router (after going through four of them in all) I’ve been connected for over 48 hours straight. This comes as a huge relief after over two weeks of fighting with this problem. In the end I’m glad it’s over and, if nothing else, I’ve learned a little bit in the process. Right now I think one of my neighbors got a wireless router within the past two weeks that was possibly interfering with not only my wireless router but maybe even my cordless phone.

We also now have a wii. We were walking into Toys R Us today to buy Orson a Thomas train table when Traci spotted a guy walking out with one. She asked the clerk and they had nineteen of them left. We weren’t going to buy one now; we were going to wait for a couple months or so but when something falls right into your lap you move on it. We bought the wii, an extra controller, and two games. So far I’m tremendously impressed with it; it’s a game console I think I can finally get something out of. It’s connected to our wireless network (now that I’ve fixed my problems finally) and I’m kind of excited to see what online capabilities it has. I have a friend from work who has one too so maybe we’ll be able to do something together online with it. Regardless, it’s a very cool game console. And I didn’t even have to cryogenically freeze myself while I waited to get one!

So the site should be back online without interruption now. And now maybe I can get a little bit of sleep at night instead of spending my time searching Google for answers to obscure problems I don’t have time to deal with.
