What the Hell Happened to Finger Eleven?

Wow. I bought the newest Finger Eleven album the day after it was released and I’m just…depressed. It’s soooo different from their earlier stuff that it’s as if they’re a different band. Don’t get me wrong, change is good but a complete departure to an obviously radio-friendly record is on the verge of selling out. I’m just not sure that this change is for the better. I guess I might just have to get used to the “new” Finger Eleven which is now at about one degree of separation from emo. I loved the first two album (I like heavy music) and, after some listening, the third album really grew on me. Although it wasn’t as heavy it was still well-written but this new album…man, I just can’t bring myself to like more than four songs. Even those songs I don’t love, I just kinda like them.
Maybe I just need to accept it and move on. I’m going to see them with Chevelle later this month and I’m looking forward to it but I’m also a bit apprehensive as well. If they spend the whole set on these new songs and don’t play anything old then I really don’t know if I can justify seeing them live anymore. I guess we’ll see.

I can’t believe what they are playing now! Paralyzer sounds like something you’d hear in a dance club. What the hell happened to the great rock like they put out on their first two albums? I’ve now lost all faith in them, and Wind Up Records.
