Disable ClearType in Internet Explorer 7

Most websites use what’s called a cascading style sheet (CSS) to determine the placement of text, font types, and other html markups. In particular a web designer will use this to tell your browser what font to display when you visit his or her website.
For reasons unknown to me, Microsoft has decided that they want to dictate the font you see when you go to a website. They use something they call ClearType and they claim that it makes web pages easier to read. After a user installs IE 7 there’s a prompt which asks if they want to turn ClearType on; however, it might then be difficult for some users to turn this off if they decide they don’t like it.
If you’ve enabled ClearType and want to turn it off then click the “Tools” menu, then choose “Internet Options”. Click the “Advanced” tab and scroll down near the bottom of the list. Under the “Multimedia” section you’ll see a check box titled “Always use ClearType for HTML*” Uncheck that box and then restart Internet Explorer.

Now IE will use the default font of the website, as the designer intended. Or you could just download Firefox and not have to worry about any of this.
FACT: Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks don't really kill people. They wipe out their entire existence from the space-time continuum.
