Independence Day

Today we took Orson to his grandparents’ house to swim. He actually hadn’t been in a pool for over a year. The good news is that Orson loved the pool this time. Before he would just sit in the pool and do absolutely nothing. The look on his face was as stoic as could be possible. This time around, however, it was exactly the opposite. Initially he was hesitant about getting in but once in he walked all over the little pool playing with toys, splashing, and laughing. We then took him to the larger pool and played with him there. It was cold but after he got used to it he laughed and played and seemed to be having a great time. After that we had dinner at Traci’s parents’ house before returning home. We skipped the fireworks this year again but we’re hoping that next year we might be able to take both of the kids.
All in all the day turned out pretty well. Orson had a great time at the pool and it was nice to have a day off from work.
