It’s About Time

It’s about time somebody did this. Finally someone refused to cover the superfluous, retarded, ridiculous, pointless, and idiotic story of Paris Hilton’s irresponsible DUI and subsequent incarceration/media frenzy. Every day in Iraq American boys and girls-our children, brothers, sisters, uncles, friends, and neighbors-are dying needlessly in Bush’s oil jihad. The Dark Lord is high on Jesus and running around the world blowing things up like a maverick gunslinger, all the while throwing American bodies into the fire faster than he could snort a line of coke in his party days. Iran is gearing up to blow us or our interests up, al-Qaeda and their sympathizers hate us more than ever, Kim Jong-il is a trigger-happy, nuke-enabled lunatic, and blacks in Africa are being carved up like Thanksgiving turkeys. That’s news and that’s what we need to see.
Check out MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski standing up to celeb-crazy America’s insatiable appetite for pointless celebrity drivel:
I’m convinced that 90% of the American public is either completely oblivious to anything but themselves and what celebrities are wearing, eating, or naming their rehab-destined offspring. I still haven’t figured out what’s so wrong about being yourself.
Americans-the kind that actually work for a living-are dying every day over in the sand and nobody can be bothered to make it their top new story. It’s easier just ignore it or to listen to stories about drug-addicted fools like Nicole Ritchie. (I hear she’s pregnant with the spider-baby of talentless emo-clown Joel Madden, whose contributions to the world include wearing eye liner and writing bad music under the name of Good Charlotte.)
These types of news stories have their place, but they’re not lead-in top stories. Put these empty stories on the back burner, at the end of the broadcast or on the last page of the paper-where they belong.
FACT: Chuck Norris doesn't actually write books, the words assemble themselves out of fear.
