All Systems Go

We received good news concerning Junior yesterday; the results of Traci’s “Quadruple Screen” blood work show nothing abnormal. What this means is that there are no signs of Spina Bifida or Downs Syndrome. That’s a huge relief for us, as you can imagine. At this point Traci is in her 16th week and all is well. She’s beginning to feel the baby move and her belly is a little bigger. She’s still feeling a little sick but her sickness is beginning to give way to headaches, as was the case during her pregnancy with Orson. If things continue to go as they did last time then she should be feeling much better over the next four weeks but that’s little consolation to her right now.

Our next doctor appointment is August 6th. This is the appointment where we’ll finally find out the sex of Junior. I hate waiting but I guess I’m spoiled; back in the old days people had to wait the entire pregnancy before they found out the sex. We’ll knew twenty weeks earlier than that. Once we determine the sex then we’ll be able to finalize the name. Right now we’re settled on Audry for a girl but we’re still undecided on a boy’s name. Traci’s leaning toward Trent; I wasn’t sure about it at first but I’m beginning to come around. Of course if it’s a girl it won’t matter anyway. We’re hoping for a girl, if we had our choice, but obviously a healthy baby is all we really care about. Ultimately now it’s just a waiting game.

I’ve posted new pictures of Traci as well as ultrasound pictures of Junior both at 15 weeks in the family photo gallery. Check them out if you get time.
