My name is Brian Jarrett. I’m a computer programmer working in St. Louis, Missouri specializing in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. I also run a data warehousing forum in my spare time. I’m originally from West Virginia but moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2000. I have a wife and two young sons, a beagle, and some fish. I spend most of my time working or with my family. I love my family more than anything else.

In another life I used to play in a band called Flood. We played around the Nitro/Charleston, West Virginia areas and had a lot of fun for several years. Before that I used to skateboard, at least until I broke my kneecap.

My best friend is Dave Hively. He lives with his wife Amy in West Virginia and still refuses to move to St. Louis. I’m hoping one day they change their minds.

In my spare time I enjoy guitar, music, computers, writing fiction, science, grade B movies, and various other things. I believe in science, evolution and thinking for myself. I find no merit in religion; instead I try to live by a simple version of the Golden Rule. I think I have a strong internal locus of control. I guess I’m also a workaholic, at least in the sense that I like to stay busy.

I still want to learn Spanish if I ever get the time. I also want to arm-wrestle William Shatner. Then the question becomes who would win? I also wonder if I could let him win, would I?
